Many children like to play hide and seek. When we played hide and seek at home, sometimes it really drove my mother crazy, as we knocked over the clothes in the closet and hid ourselves in it, or pressed ourselves behind the kitchen door and made all the cans and pots fall off from the shelves. Sometimes we thought we could not find the hidden person, but that person would suddenly jump out and scream at you! It was so thrilling and fun! It turns out that playing hide and seek is very good for children’s growth! It fosters relationships, strengthens problem-solving and social skills, and helps children manage anxiety. When we hide in an environment, even if it is uncomfortable and oppressive, we know that it is only temporary; when our friends or siblings hide, even if we cannot find them, we know they will not disappear.
